There was the debut of a new trailer to the movieNew Moon. New Moon is the second part in the Twilight Saga which stars Kristen Stewart and Rob Pattinson.

The new trailer that was shown aired during the VMA was eleven seconds longer than the older trailers out there. There were actually two earlier “teaser” ones. One aired during the 2009 MTV Movie Awards and the other during the movie “Bandslam”. According to certain sources, actors including Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart had been ordered to return to their hotel rooms when filming ended each day.

However, a representative for the studio has denied the allegations, telling Gossip Cop that “the idea that there is a lockdown is completely false”.

“I would like to put everyone’s mind at rest and let them know that the Volturi are not naked!” Weitz said in an e-mail statement to MTV News. “Jamie has what you might call a dry sense of humor and almost managed to convince me — which is why he’s such a good actor. Anyway, be assured that, even though we do want the look of the Volturi to be a bit of a surprise, they are always — as in the book! — fully clothed.”

The faux nude scene news turned out to be only one of two “Twilight” controversies to break at the end of July. Hours before we published Bower’s statement, Summit announced that Bryce Dallas Howard is going to replace Rachelle Lefevre in the role of Victoria for “Eclipse,” the third of the “Twilight” films. So, when it came to Bower’s titillating comments — in which he claimed he was being “deadly serious” but was really joking around — Summit joined Weitz in saying that the actor was simply having a laugh.

“For those that have had the opportunity to meet and/or talk to Jamie, you know that he is absolutely hilarious,” a Summit rep told MTV News. “He often jokes around, even in interviews, and has a great sense of humor. For those that haven’t spoken to him, you may be confused as to whether or not he was joking when he made these comments. Rest assured, as Chris Weitz’s note to you explains, Jamie was just joking.”

Another big day in Twilight and The Twilight Saga: New Moon news has come and gone.

Several stories have been popping up on the Twilight radar that are certainly worth mentioning.

Firstly, that Twilight inspired make-up line we discussed before has gotten an official webpage, which will be fully launched on August 17th, that will elucidate some of the details of the line. For now, images of the available products and the Twilight and New Moon actresses inspiring the line (including Kristen Stewart, Nikki Reed, Rachelle Lefevre, and Ashley Greene.

Another interesting story is one picked up on by TC, wherein New Moon star Jackson Rathbone talked to Seventeen Magazine earlier this year about his “celebrity crush,” and revealed, ironically, that he admired The Twilight Saga: Eclipse newcomer Bryce Dallas Howard.

There are a couple of updates on New Moon star Michael Welch as well. According to Twilight Source, he will be appearing at the New Zealand Armaggedon Expo. Also, Larry Richman at Pro Networks has a gallery of photographs of Welch at the Young Playwrights Festival.

A special edition Twilight DVD from France will come with a preview of four tracks from the New Moon soundtrack.

A St. Louis beauty salon owner accidentally happened upon one of the hottest Hollywood scripts — the pages from an upcoming “Twilight” sequel — in a trash bin.

Casey Ray found two scripts, one for the vampire sequel “New Moon” and one for a different movie titled “Memoirs.” She decided to return them to the studio making the films. In return, she was invited to attend the movies’ premieres, her lawyer said.

Everyone from Robert Pattinson to writer Stephanie Meyer made the scene at the upscale Blue Water Café & Raw Bar in Vancouver’s hip Yaletown district for the celebration, which lasted until almost 4:00 a.m.

Pattinson spent about five minutes posing for pictures before going inside, despite the fact that a valet at the restaurant kept asking fans and paparazzi to leave him alone. When one man asked Pattinson to pose with him and the actor cheerfully agreed, he said: “Awesome! You just scored me bonus points with my wife!”
